Renee Dellar
Founder, Director

Renee Dellar is a former attorney and mother of two. She began her adventure in alternative education when her children were still babies and she was asked to sit on the board of directors of the local educational foundation. There she began learning about the struggles of our traditional model of education and the alternatives that research and neuroscience supported. In 2018 Renee became a reticent homeschooler when she saw both her children were struggling, even in a nurturing private school environment. In 2019 she co-founded an unschooling enrichment program for homeschoolers that began with 4 students and eventually grew into The Learning Studio that we have today.

Her vision was to create a nurturing, nature-based learning environment that is child-centered and fosters a life-long love of learning. After seeing so many students over the years thrive in an alternative educational model (including her own) it became her mission to grow her school so that as many children as possible could have access to this kind of nurturing experience. She acquired the half acre property and began construction of The Learning Studio cottage and The Wonder Farm in 2023.

In 2025, Renee's children transitioned to Corona Del Mar Middle School and High School, highly academic public schools, and are thriving - a testament to the quality of education provided at The Learning Studio!
